Ricky E. Carter, M.Div., Th.D., Pastor-Teacher is the pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church. Pastor Carter is the youngest of four children born to Mrs. Rosa P. Carter and the late Deacon Ellis Carter. 

He was educated in the Mississippi school system (Osyka Elementary, South Pike High and Southwest Mississippi Junior College).

In 1986, Pastor Carter began to prepare himself for a more effective ministry. He attended Harper Bible Seminary, Magnolia, MS and Christian Bible College, New Orleans, LA.

On October 2, 1983, Pastor Carter was licensed upon delivering his first message to a massive congregation at Kelly Missionary Baptist Church, Osyka, MS. On October 10, 1985, he was ordained by the South Mississippi East Louisiana Baptist Convention at Kelly Missionary Baptist Church.

Dr. Carter is the former pastor of Society Hill Baptist Church, McComb, MS Rocky Hill Baptist Church, Tylertown, MS Antioch Baptist Church, Brusly, LA Oak Grove Baptist Church, Liberty, MS

Dr. Carter is in another year as the pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church, a church with a vision and mission – a God Empowered Ministry doing God’s work with a spirit of excellence. He is indeed a “true laborer of the Lord,” a visionary and servant-leader.

Pastor Carter served as Dean of the Congress of Christian Education for the Greater Louisiana Baptist Convention, Inc. for four years and is presently serving as President of the GLBC Congress of Christian Education. As a certified Dean of Standard Leadership Training Schools, Good Hope Baptist Church now has its own Christian Leadership School. He is a member of the Seventh District Baptist Association where he serves as Dean of Christian Education and Board of Directors, Louisiana–Mississippi State Convention and National Baptist Convention, USA, INC and is on the faculty of the National Congress of Christian Education 

He has been a faithful participant in the E. K. Bailey Ministries, Inc. and in July 2003 received Certification in Expository Preaching. In May of 2012 he received a Master of Divinity degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is currently at Liberty in its doctoral program.

Dr. Carter is the President and Chief Executive Officer of R E C Ministries – Real talk to Empower believers to become Christ-Centered. It is through this ministry that he is able to Reach, Equip and Challenge believers with the Word of God in revivals, sermons recorded on tape, CD, and DVD; seminars on Church Growth and PLANT; conduct Singles’ Conferences/Retreats and much more.
